Workplace Bullying. Burnout. Loneliness.
Dignity belongs at work.
The King Bridge Institute for Dignity and Belonging is a clinically grounded training and consulting institute addressing the hidden injuries of the workplace: bullying, burnout, and professional loneliness. Rooted in trauma-informed practice and organizational science, we equip clinicians, leaders, and teams to name what's really happening beneath the surface — and to move people from surviving a workplace to belonging in one.
It is not a workplace without conflict.
It is a workplace where people are not humiliated, excluded, silenced, targeted, dismissed, or emotionally punished for speaking honestly, needing support, setting boundaries, or doing their work differently.
- Clear communication
- Psychological safety
- Accountable leadership
- Repair after harm
- Respectful conflict
- Cultural humility
- Fairness & transparency
- Protection from retaliation
- Systems that don't run on overfunctioning
The Institute helps organizations understand what dignity looks like in practice — not as a slogan, but as a daily leadership and culture standard.
Four pillars, one repair process.
Name the Harm
Distinguishing between normal conflict, hard feedback, poor management, harassment, and bullying — clearly, before repair can begin.
Understand the Impact
Workplace harm affects the nervous system, confidence, performance, identity, trust, and retention — even when people look functional.
Restore Dignity
Validating what happened, creating safer communication, and helping people reclaim their voice, agency, and self-trust.
Rebuild Connection
Moving past conflict reduction toward real trust, accountability, and healthier ways of working together.
Research-grounded. Field-tested.
The Institute's frameworks are built on Dr. King's doctoral research on workplace bullying and professional identity, paired with 25+ years of applied clinical and organizational experience across nonprofit, healthcare, education, and government settings.
Dissertation research included 201 participants and used established instruments — the NAQ-R and NPIS — to examine workplace bullying and professional identity development among women.
